Eulálio in Pink Jersey
An update on Afonso Eulálio’s extraordinary performance during the fifth stage of the Giro d’Italia. After spending the entire day in a breakaway during the 203-km mountain stage from Praia a Mare to Potenza, Eulálio finished in second place, just two seconds behind stage winner Igor Arrieta.
Despite the demanding route and wet conditions, Eulálio’s consistent presence at the front of the race allowed him to secure the lead in the general classification. As a result, he has claimed the Maglia Rosa and will start tomorrow’s stage from Paestum to Naples wearing the leader’s jersey.
